With younger children you could go the easy way, follow the small trail to your right off the parking lot along the road (allowing you to reach the stairs at the top of the falls within 5 minutes). With older kids, you could build their anticipation (and their muscles) by taking a 30-minute upstream trail along the Red Hill Creek to reach the falls. A 10-minute walk on a trail took us from the back of the parking lot to the river. After another 20-minute trail in the gorgeous forest, accompanied by the whimsical sound of the water, we finally saw the falls through the trees. Only once we reached past those trees could we appreciate the 18-metre-wide body of water cascading down the 19metres of natural stairs. What a sight! You realize how impressive the scale is when you actually see someone walking on the humongous boulders at the foot of the falls. Stairs (to the left of the falls when you look at them) took us to the top of the falls where we found our way back to the parking lot to our left.
