Cherry on top of your Sunday

Sorry for the pun but it was irresistible. It also describes very well our impression when we visited this beach on a hot summer Sunday when the Beach area (15 minutes further east) was overloaded with visitors and the Ashbridge’s Bay parking lot was full! (Note that this summer, at the height of the heat wave, we could not find parking there either and they were giving parking tickets!) Cherry Beach sits right in front of the Leslie Spit. Chances are you will see small sailing boats and kite surfers zigzagging between the two shores. The sand is not super fine but my kids think many interesting pebbles make up for this. On the eastern part, many tall trees offer shady spots for large families to picnic. In the middle of the beach sits what looks like a lifeguard shack straight from the 50's. In the western part, you'll find trails leading to large rocks with a great a view to the CN Tower.

There are public barbecue grills along this beach!
