You're invited! Prologue is offering a free showcase at the Young People's Theatre on May 28 at 7 p.m.

As the author of Toronto Fun Places, I joined the board of Prologue to the Performing Arts eight years ago to support this fantastic not-for-profit organisation facilitating the presentation of over 2,200 shows in schools and public venues throughout the province.

For years, I've enjoyed their yearly free showcase open to the public and I strongly recommend you take advantage of this opportunity!

This year, returning to the Young People's Theatre, on Tuesday May 28 at 7 p.m., Prologue will offer the excerpts of six quality shows for children. The line-up will include companies with international reputation such as Motus O Dance Theatre (they will be performing at the Markham Theatre on May 30 at the cost of $30/adults and $22/children but you'll get to see them in action for free), the truly original Corpus, the wacky Puzzle Theatre from Montreal, the music of Sonic Escape and The Celtic Rathskallions, and Tribal Vision Dance.

It is FREE but Prologue encourages you to reserve your seats by cliking on this link to secure a place. It will give you a chance to win a FREE performance for the school of your choice!

Tips to better enjoy your evening at Young People's Theatre:

Read the TIPS section in my latest blog, it includes: the best parking option, the closest park to burn off some energy before the show (with take-out options), and the coolest mexican restaurant nearby (with ping-pong and pool tables).

Meet you there!

Set along The Esplanade’ less than 5 minutes from Young People’s Theatre.

A funky mexican restaurant on King Street East’ less than 5 minutes from Young People’s Theatre.
Early evening’ there’s no line-up to enjoy ping-pong and pool tables.
