Industrial Alliance KiteFest in Milliken Park (Scarborough)

Cancelled

Milliken Park used to be the perfect setting for a kite festival. During this event, everywhere we looked in the open sky, there was a kite punctuating the blue background. Kite flying originated in China many thousands of years ago. So it was not surprising that the whole Chinese community seemed to be meeting at this event. We saw kite flying demonstrations by teams from around the world. There were free kite flying classes for the public. The event has been cancelled due to a new law that forbids kite flying at Milliken Park!
