Firefighters and their red fire trucks are fascinating (and I'm not even considering their calendars in the equation). They're the heroes in our cities and we can always count on them. Dare to knock at the door of your local fire station (actually, their garage door is often open, weather allowing). Between two runs, they will normally take a few minutes to talk to wide-eyed children and let them touch the fire truck. Chances are they will even let the child sit in the driver's seat. Have you noticed how some older fire stations include a tall tower? Apparently, they used to hang wet hoses there to let them dry!
