They forecast rain all weekend! How about bowling?
As the saying goes: When life hands you rain, make limonade. (This is my free adaptation but it works, doesn't it?)
This is the attraction page for Bathurst Bowlerama but click here for a list of bowling places. And if you want to see a bowling photo fit for a Rogues Gallery of Bad Mothers, check my blog.
Many aspects of bowling elude young players: respecting the line between two alleys, not running after the ball, waiting their turn, etc. On the other hand, it is amusing to see a five-year-old's expression as he watches with anticipation his ball roll towards its goal. Will it hit or not? Well, it's hard to miss when you play bumper bowling (make sure to request this when bowling with young kids). Small kids will find it easier to throw the small balls used with five-pin lanes. Bigger kids love the feeling of the bigger balls used in the ten-pin alleys. Even better for them: glow-in-the-dark bowling called Cosmic Bowling, offered in most Bowleramas.
