There are traditionally one time in the year when we are treated with firefighting demonstrations, complete with displays and activities, at the Training Centre on their Eastern location (where Toronto firefighters get their training): during the Fire Prevention Week in October. One of my neighbours has been with her son and said it was quite dramatic to see the training building set on fire. It feels like the real thing! (When nothing is going on, the bare concrete building doesn’t look like much.) Note that Today's Parent KidSummer, which also used to present a firefighting demo event, does not exist anymore.
