The Parks Canada Discovery Centre used to be part of a combo visit with the warship Haida. It was a gorgeous building with the best view of the beautiful harbour from its café's outdoor tables. Sailboats were roaming the bay, sea gulls in the air were fighting the wind and we could fly the small kites we had just built in the craft section of the Centre. Everything was well designed in this museum but our favourite layout was that of the Marine Heritage, with trompe l'oeil murals, fake ice and giant creatures on the ceiling. There are unfortunately no plans to reopen it.
