2016 update: Not open anymore for public tours
Wondering how the Niagara Falls generate electricity? Tons of water are channelled through underground tunnels on each side of the river, into huge reservoirs behind the power plants downstream from the whirlpool. Sir Adam Beck 2 Generating Station was open for tours to explain it all and they have contacted me to say thet they are not open to the public anymore. You can still stop along the Niagara Parkway near the station to overlook the station by Niagara River.
