Website: www.48highlanders.comNearby restaurants: • There’s a Tim Hortons at the corner of King and John Street but if you’re with older kids, I recommend a quality snack at the OB Canteen across the street, on the first floor of the Tiff Bell Lightbox.
While you are there: • Have a look inside the lovely St. Andrew’s Church. • It is fun to stroll around the square by the Roy Thomson Hall just west of St. Andrew’s Church with fountain and sculptures. Don’t miss the hidden pond along the north side of the building (it sits lower than the street level).

If you have a chance
If you happen to be around on a Wednesday or a Thursday (sometimes on a Friday if you're lucky) you'll be able to visit the 48th Highlanders Museum in the basement of St. Andrew's Church. This small museum has plenty to offer and volunteers with an encyclopedic memory to walk you through the war memorabilia. The kids will be allowed to try the Highland Regiment's ceremony hat topped with black ostrich feathers. Bring the camera! The church is just a couple of minutes of walking distance from St. Andrews Subway Station.
