By Lake Simcoe

Lake Couchiching and Lake Simcoe are separated by a shallow strip of land called the Narrows. Mara Provincial Park sits right by the Narrows. We stopped there for a swim. The beach is wide, with shallow water and great sand. Picnic tables were set in the shade of tall trees. Unfortunately, those trees (and their shadow) were too far from the water for my liking on a very sunny day. We preferred to spend the rest of the day at McRae Point Provincial Park, a 10-minute drive further. You can fish in Mara Park.
