Chatsworth Ravine (Toronto)

Little wild thing

It is as if Duplex Avenue suffered from a split personality! On the east side of it, Duplex Parkette is as groomed as the houses' landscaping in the neighbourhood. On its west side, Chatsworth Ravine presents a totally different setting. I just like the contrast between the two and think they offer a great combo for a small outing. It will take you only a couple of minutes to walk through Duplex Parkette from Yonge Street to Duplex Avenue. And a few more minutes to walk through Chatsworth Ravine where you'll find it all, in a nut shell: steep access, tree trunks to jump over, dirt paths to explore, and the small creek under a tiny bridge. At the end of the path lies Glenview School and nearby Otter Creek Outdoor Rink. This one is a real asset in the winter when you can combine skating with tobogganing down the gentle slopes of the schoolyard.

Nathalie's tips for a smooth outing

After years of doing all kinds of outings with my children, I can assure you the secret to a perfect outing lies in the details, not the destination.
