Credit River is a wild trout and salmon river where you could see huge fish swimming upstream into the shallow water. Imagine that! In the heart of the most urban part of Canada! Erindale Park is the best spot from which to observe fishermen during the month of September (often waist deep into the river). The Credit River is less than a 5-minute walk from the vast parking lot. Downstream, right under Dundas Street Bridge, the shallow river joyfully cascades over the rock bed. Upstream, the river is lined with high boulders overlooking deeper water. Many stone stairs offer openings through the bushes, leading to a large trail by the river. The trail is lovely and stretches past Hwy 403, approximately an hour walk away northbound. We've explored this river from other access points all the way from Lake Ontario up to northern Mississauga: J.C. Saddington Park, Culham Trail, Streetsville Memorial Park and River Grove Park.
