Games on the menu

We’ve had the chance to visit a few Chuck E. Cheese locations and they all offer the same kind of experience. First, the place looks like a well-staffed family restaurant (which it is). Then, the noise level reminds you this is an amusement centre above all! Between the short, free-of-charge shows from a mechanical band, the climbing structure (where adults are also welcome) and some 40 token games (most requiring only one token) to occupy the kids, I confess I've often had time to read a few chapters of a good book, comfortably seated in a booth while my son and his friend played and regularly came back to touch base with me. (You won't feel like doing so the first time you go there, but wait and see after few times!)

After years of doing all kinds of outings with my children, I can assure you the secret to a perfect outing lies in the details, not the destination.
