Summer treat

The Orillia Canada Day Celebrations in Couchiching Beach Park is a fun filled day! Enjoy the parade, midway, children's village, craft vendors, food vendors, entertainment and fireworks at dusk.

July 1st definitely is a sure bet to enjoy Couchiching Beach with your family but it is great any other time for good old-fashion fun. Ice cream in hand, a playground by the beach with a swing just a few metres from the water, and soft sand on the beach. What more could a child want? How about a miniature engine blowing its whistle in the park to invite the visitors on a 1-km ride? You might want to bring the bikes. The City of Orillia offers a 9.5 km stretch of paved share-use recreation trail running from Wilson’s Point to the Narrows called the Millennium Trail, part of the Trans-Canada Trail. It is accessible from Couchiching Beach. I have seen part of it east of Orillia and it was perfect for a family bike outing: wide and sinuous, by the clear water and offering different panorama of Lake Couchiching.
