Inside and out

I thought this community centre's architecture was remarkable. It includes indoor and outdoor pools, both with big slides (not necessarily opened at the same time). My daughter went to a birthday party in the indoor pool and had a blast. We tried the outdoor pool but showed up at the opening and had to wait over an hour before they had enough staff to open the slide. (In the summer the indoor pool’s slide is very often closed.) Note that the original architecture creates a labyrinth effect between the changing rooms and the pools. Don't send a child alone to get something in the locker unless he's used to the place. Once you're done swimming, you can follow the trail in the back of the centre (accessible from its eastern side) to reach Tommy Flynn Playground in Eglinton Park. The centre includes an affordable indoor parking lot. Otherwise, it is only a 10-minute walk from Eglinton Subway Station.
