It sits right in front of Riverdale Park East, sells great coffee and yummy treats, has a wonderful ambiance (with books, games and communal table in the back). It includes an outdoor patio with heated lamps in the fall and blankets, to comfortably watch the sun set. Urban life at its best.
While you are there: Toronto's smaller Chinatown is just down the park, at the corner of Gerrard and Broadview. You might want to grab a take out from Pearl Court (633 Gerrard) or a Chinese pastry from one of the bakeries south of Gerrard.

A park with a view
Riverdale Park East overlooks the Don Valley Parkway and beyond, our eyes meet the skyline of downtown Toronto. It includes a tiny playground on its northern side, near the building attached to the outdoor pool. At the bottom of the mid part, down the very steep slope, is a running circuit. On its southern part, down the hill, is a pedestrian bridge to cross over the Don Valley (accessible from a gravel path off Broadview Avenue). Kids love to watch the cars from up there. Walk further straight ahead and you’ll reach Riverdale Park West, with an entrance to Riverdale Farm (note that it was closed the last couple of times when I visited and we had to walk up the stairs into Riverdale Park West to access the farm to our right).
