You can’t miss the CBC Building, with all the red “x” contrasting over its dark windows. Inside, it is quite spectacular, with black and white tiles leading to the Barbara Frum Atrium, where a splash of green directs the eye towards the very high skylight. Look around carefully, you’ll notice all kinds of asymmetries. You’re witnessing a great sample of the “deconstructivism” school of architecture which aims at creating controlled chaos. (And as any parent knows, there’s value in controlled chaos!) The overall impression is ?ber cool. The French CBC (Radio-Canada) and partners organize a yearly Christmas gathering in the atrium with French performers and Santa Claus. (Call around the end of November for details.)
