Website: www.osgoodehall.comNearby restaurants: • If you intend to visit with teenagers, you might want to make reservations at the Osgoode Hall restaurant on the premises. It is open from September until June from 12 noon to 2 p.m. I was told by a friend lawyer that the fancy bistro-style food is very good and between $12 and $24 for mains. (Unique experience for a restaurant: You’ll have to go through metal detectors!) Call their regular number for reservations.

Fancy that!
Osgoode Hall houses the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Law Society of Upper Canada. But many don’t realize that the gorgeous heritage building behind the elegant iron fences is open to the general public. You’ve got to visit this amazing landmark surrounded by a beautiful garden. It gets better inside! You’ll love the architectural details of the spectacular floor with original tiling and the exquisite work on the ceiling amidst the arched pillars of the rotunda. Kids will fancy the imposing judge chairs (they can sit on) scattered all over. I did not know that we could also visit the Great Library. Don’t make the same mistake! Judging from the photos on their website, it is simply breathtaking.
