Fireworks displays on Saturday July 1st at 10 p.m. during Toronto Ribfest 2017 (going on from June 30th to July 3 in Etobicoke)
As a bonus on top for their juicy ribs, music shows and midway offered throughout the long weekend, the event marks July 1st with a blast at 10 p.m. with a huge fireworks display!
When we arrived, a mere 15 minutes before the fireworks, we just had time to rush towards the hill on the eastern part of Centennial Park (off Rathburn Road), wrapped in blankets, to enjoy the display. I thought the park's layout allowed for an interesting view (we choose to sit on the hill).ÂÂÂÂÂÂ There was room for everyone. Unfortunately, that's exactly when my camera went out of juice! Dead battery and no spare. Many families had showed up hours earlier to enjoy the midway and the ribs.
Now that I have seen a few of these, I can tell you a ribfest is a world of its own! Every booth bosts having ranked first in its category at one event or another, with trophees displayed to prove it. The funny thing is that they all do! You can imagine the judges considering" "Who hasn't won lately, that we could make a winner this year?" Anyway, if you're a carnivore, the smell is intoxicating.
Centennial Park is huge! It includes Go-Karting in Centennial Park Mini IndyÂÂÂÂÂÂ (now called Ko-Karts Toronto),ÂÂÂÂÂÂ a mini golf (inÂÂÂÂÂÂ Centennial Park Golf Centre, a 10-min. walk south of the Mini-Indy),ÂÂÂÂÂÂ a wading pool by a playground and the Centennial Conservatory featuring a lovely greenhouse (also a 10-min. walk from the Mini-Indy), on Elmcrest Road in Centennial Park.
