Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Parade in Kitchener/Waterloo (Kitchener)

Yodoheleeetee!

Everyone likely woke up at the crack of dawn so as not to miss a minute of what must be Canada's earliest event so there was good ambience on this Thanksgiving Monday! Many families were clad in the traditional feathered Bavarian hat. Coming from Toronto, we chose to catch the Oktoberfest Parade near its finish point in Kitchener. I counted some 20 bands and 30 floats. The members of different German Clubs, outfitted in Tyrolean shorts and low-cut dresses would dance for us between floats. Add to this some inflatable structures for the kids to warm up, great street entertainers, free fun shows, and plenty of sausages and beer to taste and you have an interesting day trip right there. It is also a great excuse to visit wonderful Children's Museum located in the middle of the action.
