Going green

St. Patrick's Day Parade 2017: Sunday March 15th at 12 noon!

St. Patrick's Day Parade is no Santa Claus Parade, don't go expecting elaborate floats! But there's a great ambience. First of all, it has to be the easiest parade a family could attend, with subway stations and enough room on the sidewalk all along its circuit. Then, there are the Irish bands with majestic bagpipers playing and walking in perfect sync, some floats funny with original details and parade's walkers interacting with the crowd. Normally, the public is invited to continue celebrating with the participants at a specific meeting point near the end of the circuit (ask any of the participants). The year we joined in after the parade, skilled kids flooded the dance floor in a downtown hotel to casually execute some Celtic dance steps.
