Big field trip

At Pingle's Farm Market, the pumpkin patch is mighty impressive. It seemed to us like there were 10,000 of them sitting there. Armed with a wheelbarrow, we went through a winding path to pick our own. We visited during their Fall Festival and there was lots of action going on: bouncing structure, tricycle track, musical puppet show. The farm has a Bunnyville, elevated goats walk and mini-maze. They create a 8-acre theme corn maze every year (which usually becomes haunted in October). You can pay a visit to Santa on the weekends in December (they sell Christmas trees). We have also visited on Easter weekend and liked the greenhouse activity before going on an egg hunt (kids trade their eggs for a treat in the greenhouse afterwards).

After years of doing all kinds of outings with my children, I can assure you the secret to a perfect outing lies in the details, not the destination.
