2017: Maple Festival is from March 4Â to April 2 (Note: Bruce's Mill is open only Wednesday to Sunday and Easter Monday)
At other times, Bruce's Mill Conservation Area is a rather modest attraction so I was really surprised to discover how well it was set up during maple syrup season. It is my favourite when visiting with younger children. They can handle the short trail. The course was lined with some cut-out characters when we visited and "Buddy" (a maple leaf bud character) was teaching us that the maple season is over once he and other buds appear. And the weekend wagon ride through the forest adds a feeling of adventure to the outing. Note that the tall teepee (a big hit with the kids) is not set up every year.
