Mountsberg Conservation Area is the GTA location which has the most to offer during the maple season. Past the visitor's centre, there's a railroad crossing (it may be the first time your child can walk over tracks!). It gets you to a field from which you can walk to Mapletowne or catch a $2 horse-drawn wagon ride to get there. Mapletowne is a series of small, rustic houses. In one, syrup is produced, in the next, maple sugar is made (of course, you can have a taste). Another one is a country shop. The Pancake pavilion is an enclosed shelter with picnic tables with lively music in the background. In addition to Mountsberg’s other attractions offered year-round (play barn, raptors and other animals to watch), you can also bring you skates! Weather permitting, you might be able to skate on their pond by the trails.
