Kingston Sheepdog Trials 2017: August 7 to 13
I had to check out the Kingston Sheep Dog Trials! It features Border Collies (my daughter's favourite dogs). These dogs are so intelligent. The trials show how the dogs and their handlers must work together to develop the skills required to do their job.
I can’t say we understood what was taking place on the vast field where we could observe the tiny pinpoint of a Border Collie handling a small group of sheep far far away, in front of an attentive audience who apparently did. I must admit we did not have the patience to stay around to better understand. We were too distracted by all the other activities going on. There were dog training demos, flyball games for dogs, sheep shearing, birds of prey and, our favourite, the agility course where keeners followed their masters through a circuit.
