Riverview Park & Zoo is a definite must if you are in the Peterborough area with your family. What a unique combination! A great outdoor playground and a beautiful little zoo offering small train rides along Otanabee River as a bonus.
Some of the (over 27) exhibits are quite lovely. They're hosting otters, yaks, various breeds of monkeys, snakes, camels, parrots, reindeer, duck, pot-bellied pigs and other farm animals. But ask any kids and they will say the playground is the highlight.
There’s a zip line allowing them to fly above the ground over a distance of 15 metres! There's a long flume slide stretching amongst wild flowers and many climbing structures. I was told they recently built a great splash pad with buckets of water and sprays everywhere.
