The Big Apple is worth the stop when driving along Hwy 401 or to end a day trip to one of the nearby provincial parks with a sweet touch. Large windows allow visitors to look inside the kitchen where they bake pies, cookies, dumplings and more. To stretch the kids' legs, there’s an outdoor playground and a trail around a pond. We can climb inside the Big Apple, which stands more than 10 metres (35 feet) high. There’s a little balcony on the top. Small dens are inhabited by deer, sheep and llamas but the main attraction is your chance to see free roaming rabbits. The place also offers (for a fee) an outdoor mini golf and little train rides.
