What has three eyelids, two toes and one toenail?
The owners of this farm housing 75 to 130 big birds obviously have fun with their unusual herd. Visitors are not allowed to roam freely on the site. Families are invited on a bumpy hay-wagon ride to the fields. As the ostriches are called, the kids can feed them with corn. When the bravest bird sneaked its head through the wire fence, we could appreciate the flexibility of that long, muscled neck. Ostrich meat, being a low cholesterol protein source, is gaining in popularity. If you'd like to buy some from White Rock Ostrich Farm, don't forget to bring a cooler. Note that the visit is not very long so this is an attraction to combine with an outing to another local attraction.
