Queen buzz

A good way to introduce kids to modern art (and to start a Queen West journey) is to visit the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA). First off, admission is on a donation basis. Then, chances are the exhibits will feature something funky kids will be able to appreciate in their own way. Once, as we opened the door, we were greeted by cheers and flashes. It was an art installation meant to recreate for us the feeling of being rich and famous. A pile of posters ornate with intricate drawings invited us to help ourselves, warning us it was printed with poison ivy, playing with our minds (would you have taken one?). There was a movie on the wall, sports circuit, collages and more.
