Closed! The Cinesphere closed when the amusement park was shut down. As of May 2015, we are still waiting to find out what's in store for this large park but Phase 1, the Urban Park and Waterfront Trail, is set to open in the fall of 2016 (where there used to be a large parking lot). Ontario Place's architecture was an attraction in itself and the Imax theatre called Cinesphere at Ontario Place was part of the attraction. On their way to the sphere, children enjoyed watching people from the bridges linking the huge white pods built atop the water. When attending during a March Break presentation, we could even admire swans walking on the ice surface of the lake. Let's hope the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports find a new vocation for this landmark.
