Fergus Scottish Festival & Highland Games (Fergus)

On my wish list of places to visit

The Fergus Scottish Festival seems to offer so many fun activities that it is the first one on my wish list of festivals to visit with kids. Imagine the haunting cry of the bagpipes combined with smoke effects, candlelight and a castle backdrop at the Tattoo on the opening night. The McKiddies Centre includes Loch Fergus Ness with Castle Fergus nestled behind a small drawbridge. Activities offered in the past include interactive costumed story telling about mysteries and haunted castles, Scottish folksong sing-along, make your own tartan and family crest, historical re-enactments, sporting activities such as tug of war, fly-fishing, tartan tear, long jump, races and sheep hurl. Works for me!
