Won't put you to sleep!
It's all a matter of perspective. B.C. (Before Children), I associated High Park with romantic walks along Grenadier Pond and Shakespeare plays at the fascinating outdoor theatre. Then, it was all about the castle playground, ducks and little train. But the summer plays produced by the Canadian Stage are still going strong! The outdoor stage is located in the south-west corner of Bloor Street West and Parkside Drive. Follow directions from the Grenadier Restaurant's parking lot. Due to their massive success, there's a big crowd attending the shows so I would not recommend you attend with younger children. It is still definitely a cool way to introduce preteens and older kids to the Great Bard. The setting is simply lovely. Bring a picnic! Note that this event has a no pets policy. In 2015, they're presenting Comedy of Errors and Julius Cesar.
