Most plays at the Solar Stage are for children aged 3 to 8; some are meant for children up to 10 years old. The younger crowd gathers in front of the intimate stage, comfortably seated on floor cushions. Parents of young children attending for the first time shouldn't worry about letting their kids sit by themselves. Sooner or later, most little ones join their parents in the back during the performance. It's part of the deal and performers know it. Note that the Solar Stage has added a second venue to offer their shows at the Village Playhouse on Bloor Street West. You'll get show schedules for both venues on their website.
