After a few days of dipping my big toe into freezing Georgian Bay near Tobermory, I wanted to check if it was true that the water was warmer on the other side of the Bruce Peninsula. It is! We visited Sandy Beach, sitting pretty in the shallow waters of Myles Bay in Black Creek Provincial Park. We visited on a bright and windy summer day. Not ideal to keep the picnic sand-free but it created nice waves! The water is shallow over a long stretch, which is perfect for younger children. The remote beach doesn't get much visitors. You're in for some classic beach fun, provided you bring a decent lunch (you won't find a snack bar nearby). When we visited, a man had carefully uncovered an ntriguing large rock covered with a naturally drawn pattern of circles. It looked like a giant dinosaur's egg! I wonder if he buried it again...
