Summer 2017: Toronto Islands closed until July 31, 2017, due to the flood. Event permits cancelled, ferries can be used only by residents or Rectory Café customers (and a few other businesses') with proof of reservation.
Toronto Islands includes 20 kms of flat paved trails in a gorgeous setting. One thing bikers need to know is that the Centre Island ferry won't allow bikes aboard on summer weekends but the other two ferries always welcome them. Bike paths are accessible off each ferry dock. Near Gibraltar Beach is located the Toronto Islands Bike rental where one can not only rent bicycles but they can get tandems, double-seaters or even 4-seaters! If you're interested, show up as soon as you arrive to reserve a time spot!
