Tobogganing at Albion Hills (Caledon)

Family Tested
High energy

Breathtaking view

The day we visited, while Toronto's hills were icy at best, Albion Hills boasted a lovely coat of fresh snow. (Tobogganing season here is often prolonged for another few weeks after it's over in Toronto.) A long and wonderful slope awaited us, sitting next to a breathtaking panorama. It promised an even acceleration without being too risky, and I know my little appraiser would have loved it… had I been able to wake him up after the 40-minute drive! Kiddies' naps and snow conditions are undoubtedly the two unpredictables for winter family outings. Our son didn't bat an eye for the next two hours but my husband and I took turns to test it ourselves. The slope's incline was long enough to provide lots of excitement and not too steep to make the climb back unpleasant. Last time I checked, you could rent cross-country skis and toboggans on the premises.
