Sunnyside Pavilion Cafe by Lake Ontario (Toronto)

Picture perfect

You might have noticed the large white building along Lake Shore Boulevard. If you've never been, I recommend you venture to the other side of this building. You'll discover a facade with arches and columns, and a patio full of tables topped with umbrellas. The structure efficiently muffles the roar of motor vehicles. Only the boardwalk separates the terrace from the beach. Every time we've had lunch there, we've never failed to see graceful white swans mingling with the seagulls and geese. It makes you feel like writing postcards to friends you've left behind. You have to check the inner courtyard with a fountain, trees and flowers. They serve salads, breakfasts, gourmet pizza and more. Last time we were there, the place was hosting an art show which allowed us to visit the second floor of the building, for a wonderful view of the lake. (The access to the upper level, from the courtyard, is usually blocked but check, just in case).
