The ferry that reaches Centre Island brings you the closest to the Centreville Amusement Park. It is the most popular ferry, crossing every 15 minutes on weekends (so busy, they don’t accept bikes on Centre Island ferry during the summer weekends).
The amusement park is not the only reason for attracting all the people. There’s boat, paddle boat, canoe and kayak rental just before the bridge (past Centreville Amusement Park). A great splash pad awaits on the other side of the bridge along with a playground and gorgeous Franklin Children's Garden. You can rent bikes, tandem, 42 or 4-seaters at a bike rental outlet by Centre Island Beach, straight ahead. There’s a wide deck over the lake that will make you feel like you are by the ocean.
And from there, walking 5 minutes eastbound, you can access the boardwalk leading you to Ward’s Island. Or you can walk a few minutes westbound to reach Gibraltar Beach.
