Santa goes local

The 2017 Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade is on Sunday December 3 starting at around 6 p.m.

They say approximately 15,000 people line up to see the Kinsmen Santa Claus Parade. We’re far from the crowd of hundreds of thousands attending Toronto’s parade, and this comes with its advantage. No problem finding a viewing spot along the route. When we attended, the local marching bands were dynamic and the crowd, eager to be pleased. Many businesses were giving away goodies. Some corporate floats were ambitious. Many smaller ones were cute and funny.

The Parade starts at Peterborough City Hall at Murray Street and runs southbound along St. George, to Morrow Park at Lawnsdowne Street.

The Peterborough Santa Claus parade is great fun for both kids and adults. I like it personally because it's a night time parade which kind of brings a new element with the floats all light up. Definitely something to check out if you're in the area! Best, Kacey
