Oakville has put together a FREE Children's Festival: Sunday July 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It is located in Coronation Park, my favourite park in Oakville, by the lake, with a great splash pad and playground. The perfect setting for a children's festival. The FREE festival includes lots quality shows for children, and we'll be able to park at Bronte GO Station and hop on a FREE shuttle to get there. How cool is that?
There used to be a big waterfront festival in Oakville, which was cancelled a while ago. It included fireworks, rock shows and a midway. The Oakville Children's Festival is more low key (no midway, no fireworks), but here's the line-up of activities, which features many quality life performances for the family.
I've seen many of the live shows offered during the day. Corpus will be there with their quirky Les Moutons, with dancers playing a hilarious heard of sheep in a real pen (see this clip filmed during their last trip to Japan). Popular Jack Grunsky (4 JUNO Awards and 15 recordings) will be performing, as well as legends Sharon, Bram & Friends. Sheesham and Lotus (a funny duo of musicians sharing their passion for Old Time music) will be hosting all afternoon.
Don't forget your kid's bathing suit! The splash pad is irresistible. Bring friends! There will be plenty of food options on the premises.
